Weight Loss Program Reviews At-A-Glance
Weight Loss Plan: Jillian Michaels
Jillian Michaels (Official Site)
Full Review | User Reviews
User Rating: 4/5
Monthly Cost: $4 per week, billed quarterly.
Not surprisingly, Jillian Michaels, the celebrity physical trainer and force behind the hit TV show, “The Biggest Loser,” puts the emphasis on exercise over diet. Instead of guiding you towards a specific diet, Jillian Michaels builds you a customized exercise plan. You are treated to inspiration and advice from Jillian, and you’re even able to ask her personal questions. Jillian's “7 Steps to Behavioral Modification” compliments the exercise program by focusing on additional issues that cause weight gain. You get access to the information and advice from her book, as well as step-by-step instructions on how to perform the exercises featured on her TV show. As for the dieting aspect of Jillian Michaels’ program, it is the definition of sensible: eat less, eat healthy. For point counting, carb and/or fat avoidance, Glycemic Indexes, and all other highly specific dietary regimes, you’ll want to go somewhere else. Membership runs $4 per week.

Weight Loss Plan: WeightWatchers
WeightWatchers (Official Site)
Full Review | User Reviews
User Rating: 5/5
Monthly Cost: $46.90 the first month; $16.95 each month thereafter.
Venerable Weight Watchers once seemed to have a monopoly on weight-loss planning. Today, even in the face of a tremendous expansion of competition, Weight Watchers remains a leading choice of dieters. With its history of weekly meetings and patented “Points System” to regulate how much you eat, Weight Watchers still provides one of the best chances for success. It’s online system is every bit as up-to-date as any other plan out there. With Web-based support tools, online community, recipes, and exercise demonstrations, you can follow the Weight Watchers program from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Of course, their traditional meetings are still available, so you can take advantage of both approaches.. With Weight Watchers there are no restrictions on what kinds of foods you may eat – only on how much. You learn how to assign points to what you eat. Portions need to be measured and foods must be identified by their fat, calorie, and fiber content. Although Weight Watchers doesn’t offer a meal delivery service, its brand of point-assigned meals are readily available in the frozen section of every major grocery store. The points system doesn’t downplay the importance of exercise in an overall weight-loss plan. Just as you add points for the food you eat, you subtract points as you work off the calories. At $46.90 for the first month and $16.95 each month thereafter, Weight Watchers is very reasonably priced – especially when you consider what a change it can make in your life. Generally, Weight Watchers' promotion is: $5 per week through, 3-month savings plan. Through June 28, 2010, Weight Watchers gives you 2 weeks FREE when you buy a 3-month plan!

Diet-To-Go Weight Loss Plan
Diet-To-Go (Official Site)
Full Review | User Reviews
User Rating: 4/5
Monthly Cost: $335.96-$635.96 per month - depending on 5- or 7-day plans, other variables.
Diet-To-Go offers meal service with local pickup in a few select cities. For nationwide customers, mail-order delivery is available. In contrast to some other meal providers, Diet-To-Go includes fruit, juices, side items and condiments. This is a very “hands-free” approach to dieting, but the trade-off is that you may be less likely to learn the good eating skills you’ll need to keep the weight off once you’ve finished the plan. A variety of meal plans are available – including choices of vegetarian, low fat, low carb, or diabetic menus. Each option comes in 1200 or 1600 calorie programs and 5- or 7-day schedules. The price for food delivery is $335.96-$635.96 per month - depending on the plan you choose. Online support is somewhat limited, but if you live in one of the areas where local pickup is available, you’ll be familiar with the gyms and weight-loss centers where you pick up your meals – and hopefully taking advantage of them.
