The Word on Weightloss

Find Out The Best Way to Lose Weight

The path to losing weight does not come with shortcuts. Weight loss is no longer about just losing ungainly fat, but it also involves complete health management. There is not one best way to lose weight; it depends on the individual and their lifestyle. One has to start off by setting realistic expectations. The medically accepted best way to lose weight is by reducing one’s calorie intake and increasing calorie burn. The ideal weight loss plan would be one leading to a weight loss of around 1.5 to 2 pounds weekly.

Ideally a health care expert should supervise one’s diet plans providing guidance on daily calorie intake and supposed reduction as well as recommend suitable physical activities. The BMI (body mass index) is a good measure of a person’s ideal body weight, and a weight loss schedule can be set in place based on a target BMI. Experts agree that other than BMI, a waist size greater than 40 inches in men and 35 inches in women may spell danger.

The best ways to lose weight do not involve just cutting down on diet, they also focus on regular physical activity and an overall healthy lifestyle. It is all about looking and feeling good every day and never feeling deprived. This concept of natural health is not about fads or unconventional diets promising unrealistic goals; but rather is about being disciplined.

Foods with high caloric content should be kept at a minimum. Oily and fried foods, cookies, cakes, chocolates, aerated drinks, butter and sweet foods are best avoided. However, unlike many weight loss myths, cutting down on carbohydrates drastically is not one of the best ways to lose weight. Our body needs carbohydrates for energy. You should just ensure that the carbohydrates taken are rich in fiber and essential nutrients. A fiber rich diet provides something for the body to work on for a longer time and also keeps hunger in abeyance. Beans, whole-meal breads, legumes, oatmeal, fruits and vegetables constitute a wholesome meal.

The consumption of meat can be replaced with fish since it is the richest source of Omega – 3 fatty acids. Your weekly diet should include at least three servings of fish.

There should be a minimum of five servings of fruits and vegetables, wholegrain foods, lean meats and low fat dairy products in one’s daily diet. Foods like spinach, broccoli, soy products, and pink grapefruit provide essential nutrients without building up the calories. Using olive oil for cooking is a healthy measure. To keep weight under control you should eat a well-balanced diet that supplies the body’s daily requirement for carbohydrates, proteins, nutrients, vitamins and fats.

The best way to lose weight also includes cultivating an exercise schedule. Most overweight people can benefit from even a brisk walk daily as long as one keeps at it regularly. Regular physical activity also reduces the risk of coronary diseases, certain cancers, hypertension, diabetes, stroke and osteoarthritis.

The best ways to lose weight not only help you get rid of the extra pounds, but they ensure that they never come back. Knowing how to lose weight fast is not good enough. Losing pounds followed by maintaining the new weight may seem like a long drawn out, tiring process. But if done diligently, it can be really fun. If you follow these best ways to lose weight, it will not, in the long run, seem like a fitness program but will instead become a naturally acceptable way of life, promising a healthier and fitter you.
