Fat Blasting Foods

Whether your goal is to meet your weight loss plan, get fit, fight disease, or just generally improve your overall health, you have got to be eating superfoods. These foods are not drugs, although their effects are so awesome that you’ll question why you haven’t been eating more of them.  Superfoods have been known to be powerful enough to lower cholesterol, reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, and put you in a better mood.

You’re thinking there’s a catch right? These foods are probably expensive, hard to get, hard to find, or taste horrible. Wrong – completely incorrect. Superfoods are so easy to incorporate into your diet plan and will start to effect how you feel immediately. At this point you should be asking, “What am I waiting for?”

Keep in mind that all superfoods are good for you and there isn’t one specific food for one specific ailment. Try incorporating all of these superfoods into your diet plan to reap the benefits: lose or maintain your weight, fight disease, stay healthy and live longer.

1. Salmon
Active ingredient: omega-3 fatty acids
This is going to sound absolutely ridiculous, but hear me out. Omega-3 fatty acids will help you burn fat. Omega-3s are so powerful because they can turn on, literally, genes that increase fat-burning and regulate fat storage. If you’re not sure how to cook salmon, try this simple salmon with dill recipe tonight.

2. Eggs
Active ingredient: protein
I love eggs, and I’ve said this before – eggs are a great food to eat if you’re trying to lose weight. Starting your day with at least two eggs will help you feel full longer because of the healthy proteins that satisfy your appetite and power your muscles. Many of you ask whether to eat the yolk or not – I say go for it because it’s full of healthy fats and especially vitamins A and D! Try any recipe from Incredible Egg.

3. Avocado
Active ingredient: monounsaturated fats
At this point you probably think I’m off my rocker. All these superfoods have fat! Well yes, but monounsaturated fats are actually less likely to be stored in the body as fat and reduce weight when eaten in place of unnecessary carbohydrates. Additionally, avocados help to maintain normal insulin levels which is directly involved in keeping normal fat levels. My favorite way to eat an avocado is sliced with tomatoes, cucumbers, scallions and just a sprinkling of salt and pepper.

4. Tofu
Active ingredient: genistein
Genistein is an isoflavone, which is responsible for many health-promoting effects of soy. It’s also appears to be responsible for boosting fat-burning effects like reducing appetite and abdominal fat. My favorite way to eat tofu is in a stir-fry with many bright vegetables and delicious flavors.

5. Spinach
Active ingredient: fiber and alpha lipoic acid
Just one cup of spinach is sure to keep you reaping the benefits because it’s full of detoxifying nutrients along with soluble fiber that helps to lower your bad cholesterol (LDL). Try your salad with spinach instead of iceberg lettuce. Enjoy the new flavors it will bring to your healthy dinner.

Cheap Healthy Food

Dieting doesn't have to be expensive. Just choose lentils instead of brown rice, canola oil instead of EVOO, eggs instead of cereal, & cabbage instead of lettuce. Not only are they cheaper, they're also healthier!

Choosing a Personal Trainer

When choosing a personal trainer, check to make sure they have a NCCA Certificate, ask for references and get a consultation to ensure your goals can be reached.

Pistachios: A Low Calorie Food

Getting tired of eating the same foods? Try having some pistachios. Offering 30 vitamins and minerals, they only have 3 calories per nut (about half that of most nuts). Healthy, quick and easy snacking is only a pistachio away!
