If you happen to live in Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia or San Francisco, Diet-To-Go offers the option of local pick-up of your fresh meals at a network of local gyms and weight-loss centers. If you live anywhere else, their mail-order option is available.

In contrast to some other meal providers, Diet-To-Go includes fruit, juices, side items and condiments. This makes the immediate job of dieting more effortless, but the lack involvement in meal planning may make it more difficult to wean yourself of their meals once you’ve reached your target weight.

A variety of meal plans are available – you can use the Diet-To-Go free diet analysis to pick the plan best for you, or call toll-free to speak with a nutritionist who will help you construct the most beneficial menu:

  • Choose vegetarian, low fat, low carb, or diabetic menus
  • Each option comes in 1200 or 1600 calorie programs
  • 5- or 7-day schedules

Online support is limited to community forums and blogs, plus access to professional nutritionists. You won’t find progress meters, virtual “weigh-ins,” or exercise tips. Of course, if you live in one of the areas where local pickup is available, perhaps you’ll be getting your exercise when you go to one of the gyms or weight-loss centers where you pick up your meals.

Weight Loss Plan Rundown: Meal service with local pickup in a few cities; nationwide mail-order delivery. A number of ways to customize your menus. Meals come with many “sides” that aren’t included by other services. Somewhat minimal website in term of support and dieting tools.

Diet-To-To

Having all my meals prepared for me was the greatest thing about this diet. I didn't have to spend time shopping or preparing meals or packing them up. I knew the meals would be healthy and that they were not frozen was a big selling point.

Since I live close to a pick-up site, I got my meals myself. I'm not sure I would have done Diet-To-Go if I had to have them delivered. Picking them up made me feel like I was getting really fresh food.

The plan might seem expensive, but when I figure in the time I saved not having to shop, plan my meals and cook them, it was worth it. I really wanted to focus on an exercise plan and not worry about food.

The only thing that would make Diet-To-Go better is to have some tips about how to eat when you're out and other lifestyle things about diet. I have other nutrition and some fitness sites bookmarked, but it would be nice to do it all in one place.

Feel Fuller Longer

Having a hard time filling full? Try eating some beans!. They work to curb your between-meal appetite and give you fiber and protein. In fact, one-half cup of pinto beans or kidney beans has around 8 grams fiber and 7 grams of protein, all for about 110 calories.

Oil Substitutes

Most oils have 120 calories per tablespoon. Reduce those calories by using low-salt chicken broth when cooking food in a pan and replace 1/2 the the oil required when baking with applesauce!
