The PointsPlus™ Program

Weight Watchers has over 40 years of experience developing safe, easy-to-follow weight-loss plans. The PointsPlus™ program is the biggest change for Weight Watchers in 13 years. The PointsPlus™ program is the new way to lose weight developed by the experts at Weight Watchers.  They have combined the latest nutritional science with the proven Weight Watchers approach to develop an effective system for making healthy, satisfying choices that help you reach your weight loss goals more effectively. Remaining faithful to its original approach that focuses on peer support and measured menus, Weight Watchers has continued to innovate and stay in step with the times.

In Person or Online

You can choose between two convenient options to learn how to lose weight and keep it off. You have the flexibility of going to Meetings or following the plan completely online with Weight Watchers Online. At meetings, you’ll find out all the latest information on eating right and living healthy, plus you’ll get the guidance you need to succeed and stay on track. The Weight Watchers Online program is a customized online weight loss plan that you follow step-by step completely online – manage your results at your own pace, on your own time. Which ever way you choose to follow the program, you will have the necessary tools to help achieve your weight loss goals.

Eat What You Like

As always, one of the most appealing aspects of the Weight Watchers program is that there are no restrictions on what kinds of foods you may eat – only on how much. Once you are a member, you learn how to assign points to everything you eat. Portions need to be measured and foods must be identified by their protein, fiber, fat and carbohydrates.

Weight Watchers offers tools to take much of the guess-work out of it.

  • Low-tech booklets are available, as are high-tech point calculators.
  • A wealth of information available to help you “spend” your points wisely by making healthy food choices.
  • A wide variety of prepared meals that are available in supermarkets everywhere.

The PointsPlus™ System also takes into account your exercise regiment. If you added points by helping yourself to that slice of pie, you can always jog those off – along with the calories.

With Weight Watchers you need never get bored with what you are eating – and that is one of the main reasons why so many are able to stick with Weight Watchers until they reach their target weight.

Weight Loss Plan Rundown: It does take a certain amount of focus to manage the PointsPlus™ System, but you’ll learn to make good, healthy menu choices that can stick with you long after you’ve reached your target weight. Whether online or off, Weight Watchers is unsurpassed when it comes to offering flexibility and livability.

How I Lost Weight on Weight Watchers

I tried several in-person diets and I found Weight Watchers to be the one for me! At first I went to meetings but I couldn't make them and then I felt bad and my counselor told me I could follow the plan via their web site, so I did.

One thing I liked about Weight Watchers is that I could eat my normal food, but I learned about the Points and how to make my food fit into my Points. I cut down on a lot and I started going to the farmer's market to get fresh produce and started eating healthier. I could still reward myself with one of my favorite snacks, but I ate a portion that fit into my Points.

Sometimes I buy the Weight Watchers meals at the market, but I am trying to cook healthy things so that this is a change in my lifestyle, not just another diet. The meals are good for work when I don't have time to pack my lunch.

I added a 20-30 minute walk with my kids and that has helped me get beyond a plateau! When I've gotten to my goal weight, I'll still have the knowledge to eat right and stay healthy - and still be able to reward myself every so often!

Cheap Healthy Food

Dieting doesn't have to be expensive. Just choose lentils instead of brown rice, canola oil instead of EVOO, eggs instead of cereal, & cabbage instead of lettuce. Not only are they cheaper, they're also healthier!

Choosing a Personal Trainer

When choosing a personal trainer, check to make sure they have a NCCA Certificate, ask for references and get a consultation to ensure your goals can be reached.

Pistachios: A Low Calorie Food

Getting tired of eating the same foods? Try having some pistachios. Offering 30 vitamins and minerals, they only have 3 calories per nut (about half that of most nuts). Healthy, quick and easy snacking is only a pistachio away!
