While most online weight-loss plans we encounter focus on diet, with exercise as a supporting player, Jillian Michaels turns that paradigm on its head. She is, after all, the physical trainer and force behind the hit TV show, “The Biggest Loser.” Joining her online program is designed to make you feel that Jillian Michaels is your own personal trainer, too – if only on a virtual level.

As with many onsite weight-loss plans, you begin by providing your basics – weight, height, target weight, etc. – through a free evaluation test. Instead of guiding you towards a specific diet, though, Jillian Michaels launches you towards a customized exercise plan. It is somewhat regimented, expecting you to fit neatly within a few well-defined categories, but it does take into account a number of physical challenges you may be bringing to the table.

Once you are a client, you are treated to:

  • Inspiration and advice from Jillian. You’re even able to ask her personal questions.
  • Jillian's “7 Steps to Behavioral Modification.”
  • Get access to the information and advice from her book
  • Receive step-by-step instructions on how to perform the exercises featured on her TV show

With her emphasis on exercise, the dieting part is reduced to its basic elements: eat less, eat healthy. For point counting, carb and/or fat avoidance, Glycemic Indexes, and all other highly specific dietary regimes, you’ll want to go somewhere else.

Weight Loss Plan Rundown:
Get off the couch, learn to eat better, adjust your mindset to identify emotional triggers that lead you towards overeating. Finally, develop good habits and set up support systems for success.

Jillian Michaels program

I wanted to get back to my pre-children shape and Jillian Michaels' program helped me do that.

I read one of her books first and then went online. The meal plans and recipes were easy and helped me with calorie intake and getting better nutrients.

Jillian's site offers a lot of tips, one of them helped me understand my eating habits so that I was able to change it: Understanding emotional triggers. Now I can use something other than food to deal w/stress, etc.

The online program and success stories kept me motivated and the support groups always had good suggestions for new strategies to try. I also used the weight tracker...which was a good reason to go to the site every day and get motivated.

I am close to my goal but feel healthier and more fit. Getting my shape back also gives me more self-confidence. I recommend Jillian's diet for everyone who wants to be healthy and lose weight - it's hard work but really worth sticking with it!

Feel Fuller Longer

Having a hard time filling full? Try eating some beans!. They work to curb your between-meal appetite and give you fiber and protein. In fact, one-half cup of pinto beans or kidney beans has around 8 grams fiber and 7 grams of protein, all for about 110 calories.

Oil Substitutes

Most oils have 120 calories per tablespoon. Reduce those calories by using low-salt chicken broth when cooking food in a pan and replace 1/2 the the oil required when baking with applesauce!
